An international journal "Folia Parasitologica" is published by the Institute of Parasitology, Ceske Budejovice. Since 1990, the editorial policy has been considerably changed, which has resulted in an improved quality of published contributions and an increased impact factor (0.98 in 1996). Originally, the journal started as an annual review "Československá parasitologie" (Czechoslovak Parasitology) vol. 1-12 (1954-1965). Since vol. 13 (1966) it is a quaterly journal under the present title.
